New Mothers

Hey Everyone!

Our 3 hens have hatched 6 chicks in total (so far). With the heat getting to near 100 degrees during the day, should we separate the chicks from the mothers and bring them in with a heat lamp? Our hens and chicks are staying in the coop all day - we have been putting food and water in there for them. It is concerning because of the straw floor being dirty, the heat, and just having a weird environment setup with food and water.

What would y'all do in this case?

I'd let the mothers raise the chicks.

Chickens have been reproducing for thousands of years. The mama hen knows what needs to be done better than you do.
