new mum

Hi I've never been on any forums so new to everything hope I don't make too many mistakes.
My last chick to hatch was a silkie about 12 hours ago its outside toes are curled in and its fluff is stubby and its the runt of the litter. Its walking around seems ok. Should I worry. Thanks

You might want to post about the silkie here https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/10/emergencies-diseases-injuries-and-cures

Hi and welcome. Don't worry about getting around the website - we all make mistakes, so don't sweat it - you still get responses and hopefully helpful ones at that!

Curled toes can be common in any breed of chick, sometimes due to crowded in the egg. Please put "curled toes," in the search box and information should pop up about making a bandage shoe to straighten the toes.

x2 on drumstick diva's suggestion. There are posts on how to straighten the toes using tape, that should help.

Thanks for joining us!
