I just found this sight because I was looking for someone to answer a question about chicks. I am glad I did...I have really enjoyed all the topics, photos and discussions.
I just started raising chickens last Easter. I figured they would fill the need to have something "livestock-ish". Been dying for a horse, but since that isn't going to happen, I tried chickens.
And I love them. Have had a lot of ups and downs with my chickens (dead chickens, too many roos...etc.) But now we have 6 egg laying hens (3 Ameracuana, 1 Barred Rock, and 2 BW Wyandottes). And as of Easter Sunday we added six more fluffy little chicks (2 leghorns,1 golden wyandotte, 1 black giant, 1 ameracuana, and 1 rhode island red)! This has been a fun adventure, and I am thrilled to have a place to ask my questions.
