Hey, my name is David. I am not new to raising fowl, but I am new to raising ducks. In summer of 2024, we built a coop with an enclosed run. Then, we brought in 23 ducks (4 saxonies and 19 runners). They are now at the age where they are starting to lay eggs. We may add quail to our flock next year.

Our ducks are so much fun. They are certainly louder than quail or chickens, but the noise they make is enjoyable to listen to. You always have an audience to laugh at your jokes. I find them quite easy to raise, and enjoyable to watch.

What else is there to say about myself? I am married with four kids, all in the double digits. I am a professor of philosophy and theology, and have published a few books in my areas of research. I am a semi-professional juggler who teaches juggling in the summer, and I try to keep active by enjoying all kinds of other activities like mountain biking, skateboarding (not as much as I used to), soccer, frisbee golf, and anything else that my boys want to try! lol.

Nice meeting you all.

Hello! I love ducks too!
