Off to google earth Canelo... humm.... just over the mountain from Sierra Vista... do you guys actually get snow down there? Says you are at an elevation of just about 5000 ft unless you are down in the 'swamp'.

How big of a truck would I need to go get it?

I far as I know it is somewhere in Hereford. He says it takes up one whole wall of his barn. It was there when he bought the place . Came with the barn. He also has some mules. I never went to look at it. afraid I would find a use for it and haul it home.

We usually get snow three or four times a year. None yet so far this winter. According to the GPS/Chartnav in my boat (in the garage, which has not seen water since we moved here 6 years ago) we are at an elevation of 5283' above the keel bottom.

I wish we were in the swamp. Nicest realestate in S.E . Arizona. Green grass all year long.

That is ONE long drive.

But from the pics on Google Earth it is one beautiful paradise.

How do you get your water? Wells?

How far is it from Tucson? Soinoita?

The sat. photos won't let you zoom it too close. We are right next to Fort Huachuca and the Army is a little sensitive about their realestate being examined too closely.
Surprisingly, wells are very good around here. I could irrigate pasture, if I wanted to, but the cost of electricity would cost more than buying hay. we have a few fruit trees and some grass around the house to keep the dust down.
We Are about 70 miles S.E. of Tucson, 20 miles from Sonoita, 15 miles from Mexico. The Border Patrol has been doing a pretty good job around here latley. Far less immigrants than two years ago. Or, maybe they hear about how much our economy sucks and decided to stay home.

I would love to retire in a place like that... as long as the illegals were kept in check. 15 miles isn't that far... you are further to the south than the Canelo that I googled.

I'm not sure Google really knows where we are. FedEx didn't until last year. We used to get our FedEx and DHL via UPS. The only thing left of Canelo is the old school house. It's now The Lindseys' Cowboy Church.

Ok OLD thered i now... But i just picked up one of these last night Same make but mine has a Brower yellow label thing on it??? These things are huge and kind of heavy. I paid one $150 for mine, i just need a new thermometer, and i am thinking about replacing the 2 wafers it has.

Any tips on the use of this? What kind of hatch rates have you gotten with it.
