Made a feeder and waterer today. Wanted something more modern than the design in the plans which seemed like just a simple trough. Used the “no waste” bucket method with 2 outlets. On the waterer just a 2 gal bucket with 4 horizontal valves. They seem to have taken to the waterer but the feeder hasn’t been poked at yet. I’ll watch tomorrow to see if the level goes down.

Need to figure out a check valve/breather for the waterer. The lid has an o-ring. Could just take the o-ring out I spose.

Removing Oring might do it or just drill a tiny hole(1/16") in lid for vacuum release.

I removed the o-ring and that did just fine. Need to find a rubber plug to drill a hole in the lid and use the plug to fill the container.

I finished the run but need to take better pics. Here's the start of it, and a later one of the hole into the run. I'll update soon. Most importantly the chickens love it!

Finally took a front pic of the complete coop & run. I'm really pleased with how well it functions.

Two years later.....how is this working? The addition of the run on the side seems to make it about perfect for up to 12 birds.
