Hello All!
I've been a chicken nut since I was a child. My Grandma gave me my first chickens. They were bantams.
After a military career, my children and I began our chicken raising again in Northern Maine.
Now, in SW NM I have raised and hatched many chickens in the many years since.
I don't like to stick with pure breeds, but allow crossing in the breeding hopefully strengthening the flock.
I have given away chickens hoping to encourage others to become involved with food interdependence.
I offer free fertilized eggs to adopters to help build their flock.
I use non-gmo feeds and gather natural supplemental foods in the dessert here.
We have bantam white silkies, cochins, red frizzle, and some black silkies.
Full size hens include: a buff rock, eastereggers, a small group of rare breeds I cannot identify.
We've had several roosters here and all but one have new homes. Domino is the head guy now. He's a speckled coaching and is an excellent rooster.
I'll add some photos.
