Have 4 baby chicks and 1 Silkie. All get along great! They eat everything and quite honestly, are little piggies!! Finished our coop and they had a bit of an adjustment getting familiar with the ladder!! Haa! But they are my first and I'm in luv. Lol
 
Do not feed your chicks too many treats while they are young. They grow rapidly for the first couple months, and have very specific nutritional needs that need by met for healthy development. No more than 10 percent of their diet.
 
Silkies generally do not roost, their type of feathers (on wings) doesn't lend itself to good flying. They usually pile up together in a corner on the floor. But maybe your other breeds will encourage it to roost with or near them.
