Hey all! New on here and getting my backyard chicks next month! Only getting 6 for now, plan on getting 2-RIR's, 2-SLW, and 2-BLW. My coops under construction, I'll post pics one it's looking better. I'm hung up on what todo for my nesting boxes! There's so many options out there!

glad you have joined us and congrats on getting your own flock.

Unless you have a walk in large coop - external nest boxes IMO are the way to go.

x2 on sunflour's comment...external boxes take up less room inside the coop and are easy for the egg gatherer to use.

Welcome! We had a small coop built, and there is 6 nest boxes and my chickens usually only laid eggs in the ones located in the corners, so basically out of the six, they used two only. Good luck!
