I have been having problems with varmits getting eggs from my birds the last month or so and have to date caught a total of 4 coons, and a possum and have scared off crows several times. The crows seem to have left for the time being, since we put out a scarecrow. But now I have been having a problem with one of my guineas. It seems I have caught this same guinea about 4 times in my homemade livetrap which I bait with boiled bantam eggs. Each time the eggs are all or almost all eaten. The guinea is not in there very long at all, so I know it wasn't starving or anything, just eating my eggs. Well, this last time I put the guinea in a pen with its mate and am trying to comtemplate what to do with it. Would give it away if someone wants it, but it definitely cannot go loose and eat anymore of my eggs. Has anyone else ever had this happen, or does anyone want a guinea.

Are you sure the guinea eats raw eggs? What I mean is, the guinea might just be taking advantage of some food you put out, and may not be the original egg eater. It may now be an egg eater because it has figured out that it can eat eggs out of the trap, but I am wondering if it always was.

These were boiled eggs, still in the shell. And this has worked very well on catching varmits. This is the first I have known of a possible guinea eating my eggs, but it did. One time I set the trap with 3 of the little eggs and 20 minutes later I had the guinea and only 1 egg left. I like my guineas, but cannot have one doing this.
