Got my two ducklings at 3 days old and will be turning 4 weeks this Thursday, so far so good. They are happy campers but are outgrowing their little home fast. They have some feathers and I was wondering if it is too soon to move them outside. We live in southern Arizona and nights have been around 40° average. Their home will be a fully enclosed pen and coop. These are our first experience with birds so anything will help, thanks

! Pleased to have you in our flock! You might want to post your question in the Ducks Forum here: https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/42/ducks I wouldn't want to give you incorrect advice! Also, if you'd like to chat with fellow AZ poultry peeps, find your state thread in this link and say hello:

Welcome!

As you have already received links to some great starting points, I will just wish you and your little ones all the best.

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

If you would like to share pictures and stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out

I would also advise you ask on the duck thread. I have no experience with them and I'm sure they can get chilled like a chick, if they don't have a mother around to provide body heat.

Hi and welcome to BYC. I similarly know squat about ducks, but you have some good links that will be helpful.

Best wishes
