We just picked up 4 healthy little peachicks from a friend of a friend...we have a flock of Muscovy ducks around here but we have never had peafowl. I'm trying to fill my head and help the little guys stay healthy, so any help you can offer is greatly appreciated.
Ive done 1001 searches and read into the postings, but I have a few questions to clear up my confusion.

They are about 2 weeks old, and doing well. I picked up some stuff in case they get ill, mainly from coccidiosis. I have a bottle of Toltrazuril 5.0%, the bottle only doses for cats and dogs. U understand you dose by weight for those, and I have read posts on the subject but... I'm confused.

These chicks weight almost nothing, how much do you dose these tiny birds with a 5% liquid? The bottle doesn't say its water soluble, so I don't think it can be mixed into their drinking water (or can it?) I'd like to dose them to prevent an outbreak before it happens and put them on a regular scheduled dosing. So... what's the proper dose for a 2wk old chick?

I also ordered a jug of Durvet 698940 Ampromed for Poultry, but today I read here that this isn't the best stuff to use. I'll probably just return it and stick with the toltrazuril.

The guy we got them from has 3 more in the incubator and they'll be here too... soon.

I'm use to Muscovies, they are kinda bullet proof birds, I've never had one get sick in the many yrs we have had them. Peafowl seem to be more delicate, the more I read about them.

How do you suggest I proceed with the new peachicks? Thanks!
