Hello! I have 17 (chicken) eggs in the incubator, and sometime between 9am and 6pm today, 4 have hatched.

Several more are cracked/pipped, so hoping for lots more! NOW-when do I take them out of the incubator (or even open it in the first place!) to offer them food/water and move to the brooder? Help!

Congrats!!

I am new to this, but from what I have read most people say to leave them in until they are fluffed out (totally dry) and then I have seen some that say they can stay in the bator up to about 40 hours or so. The yolk sack is their first meal and some say you shouldn't introduce food or water before 48 hours is up.

Hopefully someone else will chime in.
