I ordered 12 peeps but only received 8 and was supposed to get the rest one week later. Well now they are saying another week, will it still be okay to keep them together in the brooder? It is really big 4 x8x 5. Any advice would be great. I was almost thinking to cancel the order if they can't all be put together. Thanks!

It should work fine. There will be a little pecking and scrapping, probably, but it shouldn't get serious (bloody.) As a rule, mixing any ages during the first 3 weeks works fine. As a rule. Nothing with chickens is written in stone.... I wouldn't be canceling any orders.

I mixed my 2-3 day old's with the 2 week old's a few weeks ago. The older ones looked at me like I had betrayed them at first, but everyone was fine after about a day or 2. There wasnt even any 'actual' pecking. They just stayed at opposite ends of the brooder.

Thank you! I just hope they actually come in this week

I just put 10 day olds with three week olds yesterday and all seems to be going well. I got the new ones when they were two days old and put them in their own space, sort of side by side brooders for a week where the older chicks could see the little chicks but each set couldn't reach the other. Now that they are together they have pretty much stayed in their own groups. no problems.
