This section of BYC has been set up for each new member to make their own introduction. It's helpful for everyone to make their own intro on a separate thread as it keeps anyone from being accidentally overlooked.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you want to do?

Unless I misunderstand what you are suggesting, the 'New Member Introductions' Forum is already the spot for new members to introduce themselves. I agree with N F C that having them all on the same thread would probably not be a good idea because new members could be overlooked. Also, any new members asking questions may not be able to find their responses if the thread is full of other new member introductions and responses. Lastly, threads getting too large can cause issues within the site I believe.

Sorry, but put me down as a vote for leaving it the way it is.

I similarly agree with NFC, redsoxs and Teila. If you feel sufficiently strongly about the issue, then i would suggest discussing it with site admin. But if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
