Well, I fell for a bunch of pigeons at an auction yesterday. I have not raised pigeons in years, so any help IDing these birds would be very helpful.

First up are the brown and whites. They seem to be stocky if that makes sense. All four of them look identical.

Then I have three that stand very tall, these two that are brown on top with a green sheen, and one that has the same shape, but grey on top with the same sheen.

And finally these two, they are very stocky, with huge feathers on their feet, that were nice and white, but now are filthy after spending the day in the tiny, solid bottomed cage at the sale. These two have almost a growl when they coo. I also found an egg in with them today. It was fertile, and I now put a makeshift nest platform in with them to see if they will raise a baby or two.

As I said, it has been decades since I raised any pigeons, and then it was just a couple. Any help would be greatly appreciated. These birds seem like they were in need of a bit of attention. One had a spring like leg band that was almost ingrown, with his leg all swollen, and they all had horrid long nails. I got the band off and will see what the leg does now.
Thanks,
Jim

1 Swallows (Thuringian swallows)

2 Magpies (English magpies)

3 Trumpeters (Bokhara trumpeters) -- should have figured that out when you mentioned the unique vocalizations.

Thanks guys!
I sure enjoy just setting in the building they are in and listening to them.
Especially the swallows and the trumpeters.
The swallows are in a pen all four together right now, and one just goes into a dance and makes a racket.
The trumpeter just sorta growls.

I am starting to worry about one of the swallows though. She had a split ring band on one leg when I got her, and her leg was swollen to the point that the ring was almost imbedded.
I got the ring cut off thinking that the ring was the problem, but the leg is still nasty looking, maybe the leg has a problem, which caused it to swell around the ring :{
