New pigeon/ problems/update with pictures

You meanbag balm. Didn't think of that. I used to use that on my chickens all the time. Yeah mine are on wire too. I provide branches and nesting areas for them to get off of it. You could be right. i bet he did keep them on wire. The other seller seems to thinkt he guy is a dealer, and probably hasn't had the birds that long. He's telling me the one cock bird the guy has for sale looks like its crossed with a new york flight. The cere is very dark red.

They also have straw to sit on then its cold out too.

I try to stay away from the 'feather merchants' who are in it for money only. I can understand selling some to make a little extra money, or simply getting rid of culls...but I've heard of a lot of people who just breed and sell, and don't really care much about the birds

On the other hand, I've seen some breeders who do sell a lot of good quality birds from quality breeders they spent the money to get. And they take good care of them all. So I guess you never know, especially when buying online. It'd be nice if we could trust everyone!

I Have Seen Alot Of Muffed Birds With This I Think It Has To Do With Muff Gene I Would Trim The Birds Muffs All Of Them And The Hock Feathers And Vent Feathers House Pigeon Have Long Loose Feathers And This Will Help Dureing Breeding Season When The Birds Are Mateing I Known This Is Not What You Want To Do With A Beautiful Birds Feathers But It Will Help Breeding And Keep The Parents From Dragging Small Babies Out Of The Nest With There Muffs Trimming The Bird In The Picture I Would Be Careful Because I Think I See A Blood Feather In The Muff Trim The Toe Nails Put Vaseoline On The Feet This Is Not A Problem I Feel Just Lack Of Attenion To Feet The Modena With Feet Problem Do The Same But That Might Be Bumble Foot If A Cock He Might Have Trouble Breeding Make Sure Band Is Loose On His Foot

I don't think it's bumblefoot, as it doesn't have sores and it's not just in certain spots on the feet...just calloused all over the bottoms.... Might be from the kind of housing it was kept in in the past..... The person I got them from had them in a good place it looked like, they were allowed outside and weren't on wire etc., but I don't know where they came from prior to that.... I'll have to try the vaseline or balm thing for it.... And his band is okay, it's loose on the leg.

Thanks
