So far the only hatched chick from a test hatching of my blue polish. This is the chick that had a small umbilical hernia that I posted about in emergency. Doing well and problem resolved itself.

Thanks he(and I am pretty sure of that...darn) is a character.
They are the funniest chickens and very social.

Really cute chick. How can you tell its a he so soon?

It's a guess really. I have used wing tip feathers as a indicator of gender in parrots for many years, then later had them blood tested to find out their true gender. The polish chicks that I have raised so far have been about 80% accurate using the same method.

Even feathers at the end of their wings at 1 or 2 days old have mostly been males, Feathers that are a mix of long and short ones have been female.

This chick also has a very upright stance like many of the male chicks before him. I would love it if he proves me wrong and is a pullet.
