I'm not new to the site or to chickens but just really started posting the other day. I would like to find some buddies near and far bc some ppl th I k I'm crazy for my chickens lol

Hello @lilpuppet ! We've already had a few people think we're crazy, and we are only just starting out with chickens! Thankfully, none of those people have been here at BYC, because I'm fairly sure everyone here(myself included) are a lil' chicken crazy!

well 6 at first. But my 2 yr old got up in the middle of the night and accidentally let our dog in who killed them all before we knew. witch was odd to me bc she never touches grown chickens. But I had them in a another room bc I didn't want to leave her unsupervised. But he was devastated he didnt understand and didn't know what to do so bk to the store we went. 6 more chicks 4 pullets 1 island red and 1 bantam. A slide lock and a gate. The hubby got home and wanted to find a roo bc our dog is scared of rooster idk why. So bk to the feed store and got an oriental something lol. Another bantam and one my 2 yr old picked idk the breed. But bc the lady knew I had experience with them. Adults anyhow. plus we were buying a sick one tonurse. She gave us 9 or 10 more free of charge. BC people would buy them and they didn't have a clue and bring them bk bc they were sick some was sick when they got them. So idk the breed on most of them. 5 are bantams I know. But the rest idk we got them last night. And all made it but 3. So far so good. Fig if they live awesome if not they had a good few last days. But she takes them home bc the store puts them in bk with food water basically to die. She bought them a heat lamp bc the store didn't provide them one. But they rest all seem happy now 3 road home in my shirt bc they were wet and cold. I dried them off and wrapped them up till we got home

And now there's a lock on top the door a gate in the door way leading in to my kitchen ( they are in my utility room) and the dog has to sleep I. Her crate at night. Just in case he figures out how to open the gate and magicaly opens the lock the dog can't get to em:).
