Hi Phyllis, congrats on your new flock!
For our run in FL, we used a heavy duty sunshade cover. It was sturdier than the tarps we could find and while it wasn't 100% waterproof, it did a good job of keeping things pretty dry. Plus it kept the hawks away from the birds and the sun from beating down on them. Of course, living in FL, we didn't have to worry about heavy snow accumulating on it so if your area gets snow, you might want to be sure to use sturdy props no matter what kind of cover you get.
