Lol, so you have a shield of bullet proof glass to stand behind or a robotically controlled firing mechanism so you don't have to be standing near ground zero? I have accuracy competitions with paper targets, no bullet proof vest required!

Actually shooting at shotgun shells isn't terribly dangerous unless you are really close. Ammunition going off outside the confines of a gun is relatively harmless.

ammo going off outside the confines of a gun equals shrapnel, we had a not overly intelligent young man here in my area a few years back who thought that was a good fun pass time and ended up rearranging his face and knocking a tooth out. Be he hasn't done and it since, though he is dumb enough not to learn the first time
