New puppy and now dog fights. Help!

Please be very careful if you want to take the advice of pushing a dogs nose ( I personally wouldn't ) If you decide thats what you want to do you could very well end up being bitten!!

Fly makes a good point. If your dog is sensitive to being touched around the mouth and you don't have confidence to do so, don't. Don't do anything that might involve fear or injury towards you or your dog. However, if your dog is sensitive about being touched around the mouth you need to work on that as it's a very bad phobia for a dog to have.

I was really thinking of being bitten because there is food around not because the dog could be generally sensitive around the mouth, the nicest dogs can get snappy around food and as you pointed out in an earlier post, Ellie may have had to fight for her food before, it may just be time needed for her to realise that she doesn't need to fight for food, along with some training to enforce the point that the food you give to her is hers and the food you give to the others is out of bounds! It all takes time and patience and careful monitering to avoid the fisty cuffs
