We just got a new puppy on Sun. Today he was out with me when I let the chickens out for the day. He decided that he liked to eat chicken poop! I have shooed him away several times today. Will it hurt him if he eats it? I don't figure it will with all the gross things dogs eat, but I wasn't sure, thought that I should check.

[IMG] I don't know if it's bad for them or not. My dogs practically follow the chickens around waiting for a "treat" and nothing has happened to them. I'm assuming that if your chickens had worms they could pass them onto the dogs.

As long as the manure is parasite free it is actually beneficial. It provides gut bacteria.... kinda like yogurt does.

Quote:No. Our dog eats chicken poo all the time. The gross part is his breath and when he licks us.
