New quail cage!!! Also, quail still not laying.

I have 2 quail (a male and a female) and I had them in a guinea pig cage. They are now in a big cage that is 6 (wide) x 8 (length) and they seem to really like it. I have the guinea pig cage in there with the Morton at the roof of the GP cage. I also stacked bricks and put wood on top of those and put a bin in there too. Their feeder is made from a old coffee maker, and it’s like an automatic feeder. I have their food and water covered so nothing gets in it. I am hopefully getting some quail next weekend.

My female is almost four months and still not laying eggs. I’m not sure what’s wrong, if there’s anything I need to do, please let me know. Thank you for any responses!!

I had a group of hens that didn't start laying for about that long. They were hatched in the fall, though, so they weren't getting enough light. Hens need several things to lay.
1. They need to be old enough (at least 6 weeks)
2. Enough light (14-16 hours/day)
3. Enough calcium
4. Low or no stress

Stress can be caused by moving to a new environment, too many roos (coturnix should be one roo to three to five hens), predators, etc.

They have sun and shade. They might not have enough calcium, so I will try that. They had their gp cage inside the big one for a while. I just now let they move in it, they really like it. Maybe I will have some more hens when I raise the chicks because I only have one male and one female as of now. Thank you for the help!

Your new set up looks great for them! If the female is healthy she should start laying soon. When I had quail I found that they are very sensitive to stress and will stop laying every time there is a big change or issue in their environment. Hopefully now that they have much more space she will settle down enough to start laying for you.
