Just about finished with my new Quail home. Got the electrical outlet installed underneath for water heater for winter..Finished auto waterer system..now for a few touch ups..

Looks very well done :)! Like a legit house hehe.

Does it have a solid floor area? I am not a fan of wire for many reasons... One of them being that sometimes predators can rip off quail toes through it :eek:

I think people use another layer of wire a few inches below to prevent predators?
 
Thanks...No it doesnt have a second wire under, but a good idea. its about 3ft up, but a racoon can stretch up that far easily, got my mind going, thanks. I have added some plywood in part of the flooring system to give their feet a break from the wire. So far its great, the auto waterer is working flawlessly. Got my auto feeders installed, will put a few pics up 2morrow.
 
Wish I could construct something like that! Very well done! Having experienced racoons pulling quail legs through 1/2 inch hardware cloth floors, I agree on the use of subflooring...which is another layer of wire for our cages.
