New Quail Owner

I love what you've done. My coop is much higher than yours. Is yours technically called a quail coop or rabbit coop?
The plastic is all you use to cover? Do you use something more for winter?
I have cinder blocks that I will set up as you have. Thx very much for the photos.

I think it was listed for chickens. I can’t imagine it holding chickens, I feel like they would break out. I did put metal hardware at every joint area to strengthen it.

I have a tarp over it, which I put on every night, and in the rain. they get sunshine during the day in good weather. This will be their first winter, but so far they’ve seemed fine down to like 45 degrees, I think they’ll be fine. The coop area stays nice and dry, the cinderblocks also help block some of the wind in the pen area. They have nice deep pine chips and seem unphased by any weather so far.

So pine "chips"? Is that pine "shaving" or beefier than shavings?

I buy the finest shavings I can. TSC has flake and fine options, but I find both to be pretty big. I just bought some from a local mill, and it seems pretty finely broken up.

Welcome to Backyard Chickens. Raccoons sometimes travel in 2 or 3's among them I bet they could move patio blocks etc.
