I've never raised quail or tried to incubate but you should be able to get some answers using these links:

Best of luck to you!

Hi :welcome

Glad you could join the flock! I personally don't lower the temp at lockdown but some do with no ill affects. The thinking is that once they get to lockdown they are producing their own heat so a slight knockdown in temp won't do any harm. As for keeping them on their sides I would say yes. It's a natural position for them to be in at hatch.

Good luck and I hope you have a great hatch. Enjoy BYC :frow

Welcome!

As you have already received some good links and advice and I know nothing about Quail, I just wanted to send good hatching vibes your way.

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun. Unlike non chicken loving friends, family and colleagues, BYC’ers never tire of stories or pictures that feature our feathered and non feathered friends
