New RIR and Maran chicks

I'm the proud parent of Rhode Island Red and Maran mixed chicks today. Got 9 out of 13 eggs hatched. Not sure why the last three didn't hatch. Guess that is nature

Its such a learning experience and so much fun.

I've got the chicken urge now...don't think I'll be able to stop

great to have you joining the BYC flock

The Marans chicken comes from France and the name of the
town is called Marans so even if you only have on it is called
a Marans chicken hence do not drop the "s" in Marans it is
proper to have the "s" in Marans
