New rollout nest design Picture heavy-edited 1/21

Pics
I tried simulating this using the nesting pads like you have above and then placing them on top of a board at different angles. I find that if the egg is lengthwise (perpendicular) to the slope at almost any angle, it doesn't roll. Have you had this problem in the real world?
On rare occasion I have found a egg stalled. However, as soon as another bird enters the nest it would have rolled thru.

Hi Opa thanks for the insight I'm new to chickens and now will have to rebuild my nest boxes to accommodate you plan.I have made a chicken ark on a old trailer with outside box when i am done will try to post pic of it thanks again

Welcome to BYC and I'm glad you found my nest box thread helpful

Opa - Thank you for posting this design. I'm glad I saw this thread before building our coop. We are going on a 10-day vacation later this year, and I have been worried about how I was going to find a chicken-sitter who would be willing to pick up the eggs about the time they are laid. I was worried I might end up with egg-eaters by the time we got home. With this design, it wouldn't matter what time of day a chicken-sitter would arrive to gather the eggs. Hats off to you!

Okay - maybe I'm just dense - but I can't see how the partition parts are connected. I'm planning on putting together the six nest box but after reading the whole thread I see that no one has mentioned the basic how to assemble.

Can someone help me understand how the walls and partition and floors are put together - are they glued? nailed? screwed? doweled? together. Will it be obvious once I cut it all out?

Thanks!

All of the pieces are glued and nailed. I used pneumatic nailer with 1 3/4 18 gauge brads. The ramps also help hold the partitions in place.
