I have a couple silly questions. Does anybody know how long it takes to get fertile eggs after a Rooster is added to the flock, and once he is no longer around how long will the hens still lay fertile eggs?

Not sure on the first question but I think that I've read that a hen could still lay fertile eggs as long as 2 weeks after the roo is gone.

It depends on how long it takes for the hens to accept him and allow mating.....
Hens "can" lay fertile eggs for 30 days or more after the last mating, but peak fertility is in the two weeks after
