Hey, so recently my roo passed away:hitfrom what I figured was coccidiosis.
And my three hens are all kinda scattered about not looking like much of a flock.
The two normal size hens somewhat stick 2gether but they always seem to ditch my little bantam ( they don't really like her my roo was the only one nice 2 her). Normally I guess this wouldn't be a problem but we have lots of predators and I feel like they still need someone 2 look after them and keep them all 2gether. My rooster was very nice considering that he only had three hens. he was always looking up at the sky.
I was wondering if you guys knew of any particular breeds that have good roosters. I know that any rooster can be nice if you handle him enough but I feel like some things in a roo are permanent. I'm not in a rush to know or anything just wondering! Thanks!

I liked my Australorp boys. Easy to handle, even though none of them were hand raised. They're also somewhat formidable size wise and looked over the ladies well enough. I don't have much experience outside them though.

I would ask around locally. Poultry clubs, county extension agents, or even at the feed store or social media. What would be ideal, is someone who has an extra rooster that did not get culled cause he was just so nice. A rooster that is close to a year old, that has been raised in a multi-generational flock.

Those are the best roosters.
