Hey guys,
I got five new birds this year, all silver laced wyandottes. One of them is a rooster...planned and not by mistake. Anyway, Charlemagne, as he's now called, has come of age. He's crowing, has beautiful feathers and manages the flock, especially whenever he senses danger. He also, however, gets it on with the girls constantly and for my older three hens, a bit too much for their taste. Will a new roosters....er...prowess, as it were, simmer down at all once he's full mature? The poor hens are dealing with it the best they can but Charlemagne knows what he wants, the poor things! The three older buff orps do not seem happy to be the objects of his desires.
