That's a wonderful size coop and run! I was in southern MN last summer it's soooo nice in the summer cool temperatures and green fields! But I heard lots of stories about the snowfall amount they got the previous winter. I'm curious and concerned. We rarely see snow here but is that roof and angle going to hold up well with snow?

Can't help with flooring ideas sorry. I'm kinda envious. Mine have been in the run a few weeks and the part by the door about a foot wide around it is already trampled and compacted solid, lots of clay in the soil here. :(

It’s 2x6 rafters with a decent pitch. It should hold up just fine. I usually rake it off the current run anyway, or it come off on its own if it’s warmer. It’s 24” centers, with 16” centered purlins, and going with white steel roofing sheets.

Here is an updated view of my new run. I have most of the hardware cloth up, and just mainly need to build a door. I also put up poultry fencing between the old run and the new run, so the older girls can see, but not touch, the young ones. I also cut out the opening for the pop door, and had a few supervisors.

And some more. I added some clear panels to the roof to allow more light in. I like it. I’m not going to like the fact that I will be banging my head in there, but the chickens sure like it.

That's a serious run for a beautiful coop. I wonder what the official snow load rating is. It looks very strong! I hope it meets the approval of those very discerning and adorable supervisors.
