I am so disappointed in myself. The feed store had runner ducks: black, crested, and some other type. I bought 2 of each, and 4 of the black. Below are pictures of one of the created runners, and a regular runner. Is it possible to tell what color they are going to be?
All of the chicks shown are a warm buff\yellow throughout, except their tail
Fluff is lighter, and the crest fluff is white.
Also, one of the black ducklings has a tufted head. It's not as prominent as in the two other crested, but it is still there. Will this duckling turn out crested too?
