Hi everyone. We're the first-time companions of three backyard San Francisco chickens: a Barred Rock, Black Star/sex link, and Creme Legbar. All acquired as day-old chicks in February 2020 just before the pandemic lockdown began! They're wonderful birds and we've had a lot of fun with them. We built our own coop and run for them and it's kept them safe and sound. Our Barred Rock has just gone broody so we're in the middle of trying to break her from that; I have high hopes. She's a resilient and confident bird so we'll see what happens--she was a great layer until this week! The Black Sex Link is always the first to do everything and is lively and a good layer. Our Legbar has not been thriving and stopped laying 9 months ago. A bit worried about her and I think I'll post a separate question about her.
