Okay - new babies, hatched Saturday. This one, the one I'm worried about? Last one out, Sunday morning. Is completely dry. Has been rinsed off in warm water, once, but still feels ... stiff and crunchy.

Do I wash again? With a soft-bristle toothbrush, maybe?

I've had to peel a hardened strand of membrane off a chick's back before, but this is ... not that. Advice, please?

(S)he will be fine. I would just let it be.

yes I used a toothbrush and soaked the little guy in warm water...it took a couple of goes but it works great and allows them to get dry and fluffy so they can get warm, otherwise she can not get fluffy and stay warm...I would go and use a soft toothbrush very gently brush her as she is soaking on the warm water...only for a minute, then let her rest and go again later...it worked great for me and it was the first time I tried it. Both my little guys are doing great today at 3 weeks old...I just did not brush their heads and it falls off later...

good luck
