new skin growing over roos eye!

My sultan roo was attacked by two other cockerels and badly injured his face and got an eye infection which has gone down now. New skin had grown over, but it is looking like its starting to grow over his eye. the skin doesn't look very swollen and he can still see out of it. it won't fully grow over it, is that even possible?

Is it on the top or the bottom of the eye that
you have this extra skin growth ?????

its growing in from the side, here is a pic of what it looked like a couple of days ago, and the skin is growing in from the left.

Update: The eye looks clear of infection, but the new skin is slowly covering the eye completely (eyeball appears normal underneath). Is this normal/part of the healing process?

This is the bad eye (looks much worse in the flesh, as there's only a pinhole left)

Look's normal so far as you stated it is clearing up it
all takes time, your Silkie looks so tame keep the eye
clean and if other chickens peck the eye it will not have
time to heal so if you need to separate them do so ....

I used to have a polish hen who has a layer of skin over her eye. She did fine, and used her buddy as a guide. I don't know what to say about your bird, other than he'll probably be just fine.

It looks like pterygium of the conjuntiva. Its cause is unknown, but is thought to be caused by constant eye exposure to UV radiation, dust, and humidity. It is a benign tumor, so don't be worried about cancer. However, there is no cheap cure for it. Just keep the area clean, put artificial tears in to lessen irritation, and wait for it to grow over. If you want to 'save' his eye, just say so. Like I said, its very expensive.
