I am planning on raising two frizzle polish tolbunts this spring and am looking to build a coop with a run now. I keep looking for ideas as I want to build it correctly the first time. I live in the country so raccoons and other predators are an issue. Any tips none to big or to small are much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Always bigger than what you think you will need, they love you for it. 1 sq. foot of ventilation per bird. Do a lot of research. So many cute and small coops out there that are absolutely horribly thought out and configured. You and your birds will have nothing but issues in the long run. Build your run as Welshies said so you cans stand up in it, I pay every day of my life with my old run two feet shorter than I am..it's exhausting.

You will want more than 2 chickens. Build a coop that will be comfortable for way more chickens than you have planned.

I kept hearing that before I got started and I wish I’d taken that advice more seriously! Now I wish I had room for 10...

I agree our coop is way to small now we started with 7 chickens and currently have 16 and had to build a second. Build bigger than you think you will need!
