Hi! I am currently caring for my first flock on my own. I live on a dairy farm and had chickens that I raised with my brother when we were in elementary school. My grandfather had lots of chickens and imparted his wisdom to us. Unfortunately, he passed away a little over a year ago. Yet raising chickens has helped me feel closer to him, even though he is no longer with me.
This is my first time raising chickens as an adult! Currently, I have 8 chickens that are a variety of breeds and colors. I do not know all of their breed names, but I can confirm I have one silver-laced Wyandotte (my pretty girl <3). Chickens are a lot of fun - I love their strange personalities and watching them interact with each other. Getting my first egg was also so exciting, and even after a little over a month of consistent laying, I still enjoy going to see what they've left in the nesting boxes!
