I just got my GQF 1502 a few days ago and I will be putting in my first batch of eggs this evening. I think I have everything ready to go. My humidity is around 55% and temp is holding steady 99.5. I do have a few questions for you incubator aficianados.

1. How often can I check in on my peeps. I seem to have read that once a day is OK.
2. Do I need to check my humidity pan every day? On average how long will it last?
3. I have read that you start candling on the 5th day and then every few days after that. Do you just take on out at a time, or do you tthe whold tray out and candle them quickly and then put them back.

Those are my initial questions. I might think of so more in a bit. Very excited to get them going. BTW, I will be hatching some black and whit Cochins that I got from Bo Garrett. The hens I got from him are huge and beatiful.

This is my second season hatching with a 1500 setter and a 1550 hatcher. Both have the electronic thermostat that keep temps +/- 1/2 degree or better.I love these incubators!

i suggest you by the optional automatic humidity pail.Just fill the bucket once a week. You can also run a small piece of tubing through one of the side plugs into the inside water pan.Using a small funnel atached to the tubing, you can add water without opening the incubator.
I candle at 12 days and again at 19 before lock down.Open the incubator as little as possable and you will have good hatches..............
