Been a member 4 years. Haven't visited this site awhile, and noticed it changed. Used to love the section on breeds, since I've had so many. I like to raise different breeds, and choose to keep those I admire most. Most people, like others in my very lg household, like cuddly, tame, friendly, & big or fat breeds. I like friendly, fast, alert, energetic, non aggressive, flighty, ornamental, glamorous, stately, unique, and rare. We're obligated to preserve rare heritage breeds while sustaining common ones according to the best of our abilities. I've had a pair of buff bantam Brahmas but recently got 6 mixed standard light and dark Brahma pullets. 1 looks male (Hope so) according to the tail, which puffs upwards like a Weeping Willow. Had difficulty getting straight run Brahma chicks locally. Most locals want only hens. Loved the bantam buffs. 1 daughter named hen Brahmasita and I named rooster Bram Stoker. They were super calm. I know standard Brahmas are extremely LG, and expect them to eat lots, but need more input from those with experience raising standard Brahma hens & roosters. Thanks for any input.

Thanks. Have you raised standard Brahmas? Any information on what you've experienced?
