New this year with a Breeding question

I stated this spring with 5 black australoups lost 3 to a fox, added 4 more (2 months younger than the older 2). Just added a silver laced english orpington with black tail feathers (with beetle green) rooster. He is the same age as the 4 younger hens. I can't wait to see the offspring from this mix
Crossing Silver Laced Orpington with Black Australorp should give black chicks, possibly with a few bits of silver leakage.

Breeding some daughters back to their Silver Laced father will give about 50% black chicks and 50% other color chicks (more-or-less Silver Laced, but probably the "lacing" will not look very tidy.)
