Welcome. I am sorry you lost your precious australorps. Like she says "help to fox-proof". Use 1/2 inch hardware cloth on sides of runs, the top of the run and make a hardware cloth apron - it is where you attached the hardware cloth at the bottom and then run it along the ground 18-24 inches and then put rocks or heavy dirt on top of it. Foxes come up to a fence to dig (they won't dig far away). For your coop, any openings, cover with hardware cloth and secure with screws and fender washers. No fox is getting in with this set up.Hiya, and welcome to BYC!!Sorry about the loss of your chicks. I didn't see this post when I posted. I still hope it helpsThank you for your support. I didn't realize the bottom latch was unhooked and 3 girls got out and that's when the fox got them. I have since built a new coop a have added hardware cloth around the bottom with an extra 12" below.
