Hi New here just want to say Hi .For new I have 1 Duck name quacker he raised with a rooster and three hans. Now he thinks he's a chicken that like water .I recently got 3 ducklings i'm hoping that at least one of them or a girl so i can give him a girlfriend but i don't know if he will know that he's a duck and not a chicken.I know now he try to breed with the chickens.I'm hoping getting more docs that he realises that he is a doctor and not a chicken guess i will find out

Sometimes it's best to keep ducks and chickens separated. If you do end up with drakes when their hormones rage they will try breeding chicken hens. Drakes have a much different apparatus than roosters and can injure or even kill a hen chicken if they keep attempting to breed them. I have no idea how many girl ducks each drake needs to be satisfied. You can go to the "Other Backyard Poultry" forum above and post on the duck threads for more advice.

Hi :welcome

Glad you could join the flock! Great advice there for you from drumstick diva. I too would seperate him from your chickens so he can't hurt them. Definatly drop by the duck section for more advice on ducks https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/42/ducks

Good luck with your new ducklings and enjoy BYC :frow
