New to all of this!

Hi,
This is my first forum, and soon to be my first attempt at keeping chickens! It's something I've been wanting to do for a long time now but didn't have the space or the approval of my municipality. Now me and my family have moved to 12 acres just south of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada and laying hens will be the second addition to our family (the first was a Boxer pup named Roper who is now almost 9 weeks old and who we are hoping can be taught to co-exist nicely with the poultry!). I'm very happy to have a great resource such as this at my fingertips because I will be needing LOTS of advice!

Good luck with the flock. It will depend on your dog and it's prey drive if they can live together. I personally would never trust my dogs around the chickens even though they don't seem like they'd hurt them. I'd rather be safe then sorry.
