Hi! As the title indicates, I'm new to raising chickens and could use any help offered! We recently bought a tiny little farmette and promptly purchased 11 baby chicks. They are now about 4 weeks old and getting bigger by the day. Frankly, I'm surprised I was able to keep them alive through the first night. They have the Taj Mahal of brooding boxes and they will be transitioning into their coop in about a week. My husband, two kids, and I are having a great time raising these little gals (and guys). We don't know the breakdown of hens and roosters yet. I can't wait to learn some new stuff on here...thanks in advance!

Generally chicks aren't ready to move out till they are fully feathered out. If you have already visited the Learning Center, you may want to visit the Raising Backyard chickens forum. Once there, side tabs will open on the right and you can click on the categories that interest you most.

BTW welcome to the BYC flock
