Back on May 11, I rescued a few days old black duckling that didn’t have a mother. It was almost dead when I found it. I brought it home, used a dropper and gave it some sugar water and put it under a lamp. Surprise! It lived. It turns out it is a black Swedish female and I was given a Cayuga male. I’ve enjoyed raising this duck and can’t wait for eggs. Here is my dilemma, this male drake is HUGE, my little Swedish duck is very small. The Cayuga is domesticated, my duck was wild and now tamed my me. I’m so afraid this drake is going to hurt, if not kill, my duck when mating. Can a drake be too large for a duck? Here is a picture...

Do you think she's fully grown? Can you get more female ducks? It's best to have a 1 drake 3 hen ratio, at the least. 1 drake 5 duck ratio is ideal. If you notice he's being a bit much you may need to put him in drake jail.

you could make two pens, one with the girl and another friend for her. one with the drake and a friend for him. that way nobody gets hurt

She’s about 10 weeks old. When are they considered fully grown? It sounds like I need more ducks. I have them in a long dog run with a large dog house. It could fit 4 ducks okay I think. I have a 120 gallon trough at the end of the dog run they love to swim in, and then I also let them out on the lawn. Knowing all that, do you think I have enough room for two more females?
