New to back yard chickens and chickens in general!

Hi, I am from TN. We bought 10 chicks from the feed store the day before Easter. Only lost 1 which is pretty good for first timers.. Not sure exactly what breeds we have. We have some that demand to be held. Ours all have names and since we didn't know the sex in the beginning, most of their names don't match their sex.. Example Roger and George are both females and Lucy is a boy

That happens to many people. My friend has a rooster named Tiffany that was supposed to be a hen, had another Holly, who also 'faked' it. Cockerels pretend to be pullets as long as they can. They figure once you get attached to them they are' in like Flynn'
