Hello Everyone!

So thrilled to be a part of this community! We are new to chickens and brought our girls home in mid-March. We live along the front range of Colorado. We have 7 chickens of various breeds from barred rock to Columbia and partridge Wyandotte, a Rhode Island white and Rhode Island red. It has been SO FUN to get to know these girls and their funny quirks and personalities.

They are now a big part of our daily lives, and we often will do our 'chicken therapy' after a long day of work letting the girls out of their run to free range in the yard and just relax watching them do their thing.

I grew up on a horse farm, but we never had chickens and I ALWAYS wanted them, so this has really been a dream come true! We have our little homestead with our garden and our dog Bailey who is great with the girls and keeps an eye on them. She likes to lay down by the girls as they are scratching and pecking around. (She also loves their poop but that is a separate post. haha!)

I am a RN, and my husband is in education, we love to ski, garden, bike and climb and dream of purchasing some larger property to have a bigger homestead! I found this community online and it has been such an amazing resource, I am so happy to be a part of it!
