New to Back Yard Chickensl

Hello,:frow and welcome to Backyard Chickens!!!:welcome So nice to hear you might add on an addition to your flock! Sounds like you have a wonderful flock right now too! So neat to hear you are building a coop for the chickens! Your birds will be so happy!! We had a little red coop at first that we bought that fit about 5 chickens. After we built the new coop that probably fit 10 also had a roosting bar they all moved on to that on and abandoned their little red coop so than we started using the red one for our 8 week old chicks than they got older and we moved them to the one that we built. Some prefer the roosting bars and others sleep in the nesting boxes.

Hi,
My husband and I have talked about raising chickens for years since we both grew up with so.e family .ember that did. We were able to finally move to.a.place with some land and now have 2 coops and 10 Hens. We were gonna wait till spring, but two opportunities were too good to pass up. We have 3 Leghorns,1 Black sexlink,3 RIR,and 3 Austlops. My husband is building a large hen house for them all to cohabitate together in and keep one of the current coops as a quarantined coop. Loving the girls and all their oddities.
Nice plan/nice intro. Nice to meet you!
